Gutter Cleaning in Cornelius, NC
We treat every gutter project as a top priority. Attention to detail is the heart and soul of our business. We go far beyond providing simple gutter services, giving you incredible insight into your seamless gutters project. Your gutter installation will be handled by licensed and insured professionals. It all starts here, please begin below.
The primary role of your gutter system is to channel water off of your roof and direct it away from your home’s foundation. Gutter blockages can result in water running over the sides of your gutters. That water will eventually settle around your foundation. With time, pooling water will affect the reliability of your home’s structure, causing cracks, mold growth, and even collapse.
Your home’s gutter system is held up by fascia boards, which are typically made of wood. When your clogged gutters overflow with water, your fascia boards will begin to rot. On top of that, your fascia boards must hold the increased weight of your clogged gutters. The combination of rot and weight can cause your gutter system to fail, resulting in expensive repairs.
If you want to maintain the beauty of your landscaping, having clog-free gutters is essential. When your gutters can’t do their job, overflowing water will pour down the sides of your home. Eventually, this water will damage the trees, shrubs, and flower beds close to the base of your home.
When your gutters are full of leaves and other debris, rainwater, and other forms of precipitation have nowhere to go. This causes water to fill your gutters to the brim. Because each gallon of water weighs around eight pounds, this extra weight will cause your gutters to crack, bend, or even tear away from your roof. Your gutters are rendered completely useless at that point, and you’re looking at very expensive repairs.
If you don’t have the time and patience to commit to proper gutter cleaning, The Gutter Gorilla team is here to help. We have been cleaning gutters in Cornelius for years. With a fully trained team of gutter professionals on staff, we have the experience and resources to clean your gutters effectively and efficiently.
Common Signs of Clogged Gutters
One of the most common questions we get at The Gutter Gorilla centers around when homeowners need gutter cleaning in Cornelius, NC. The answer is nuanced, but generally speaking, your gutters need to be cleaned twice a year or whenever they become clogged. Unfortunately, it’s not exactly easy for the average homeowner to climb up on a ladder, get on their roof, and look to see if their gutters are full of debris.
Luckily, there are some common signs that you can look out for to save yourself from costly repairs:
Gutter Installation in Cornelius, NC
Buying a home is one of the largest financial investments that you will make as an adult. As a homeowner, you know that protecting that investment is a priority. While most homeowners do a good job of staying up to date with home maintenance, sometimes life happens, and things begin to slip through the cracks. - We are licensed and insured.

When Should You Consider Gutter Installation?
Sometimes, it can be difficult to determine whether you need new gutter installation or gutter repairs. The most reliable answer will come after our team has had a chance to inspect your gutters in Cornelius. Before you call our office to schedule an inspection, consider the following symptoms of a failing gutter system:
- Gutters are starting to pull apart and separate.
- Gutter guards are starting to sag and pull away from the roof.
- The gutter hangers have begun to break or bend.
- Downspouts are starting to crease or are no longer straight.
- Gutters show signs of rust or have visible holes.
Quick, Reliable Gutter Repairs in Cornelius, NC
Cleaning and repairing gutters can be a tiresome task. We understand that the last thing you want to do with your free time is to try and figure out how to repair your damaged gutters. However, gutters that are left unrepaired can cause extensive damage to your home and lawn. If you see that your gutters are damaged, you must get them repaired by a professional as soon as possible. Gutter repairs range in complexity and can be as simple as patching a hole in one of your downspouts to re-securing gutters on your home’s fascia board. We recommend that you call our office to schedule a gutter inspection, so our team can get a full understanding of the repairs that need completing.
Here are a few signs that you should be aware of that usually require gutter repairs in Cornelius, NC:
Pooling WaterPuddles of water accumulating near your home’s foundation
LeaksThe next time it rains, grab your umbrella and check your gutters for signs of drips or leaks.
Displaced HardwareIf you notice gutter-hanging hardware laying on the ground under the edge of your roof, it’s time to call in The Gutter Gorilla. This is a sign that your gutters aren’t fastened securely. One strong gust of wind or heavy rainstorm could cause serious damage to your gutter system.
MoldCheck your basement and your attic for signs of mold growth. If you see any mold or mildew, your gutters might not be doing their job of directing water away from your home.
Peeling PaintHave you noticed that paint is starting to peel down the side of your house? Is there rust beginning to form on your gutters? If so, you could be dealing with a leak. Usually, the result of rust or a puncture, this type of problem needs to be patched by a professional
Uneven GuttersIf your gutters are uneven or starting to sag in the middle, it’s not a good sign. In situations like these, pooling water will not be able to drain towards your corner downspouts. Eventually, the entire gutter will pull away from your home. It is highly recommended that you hire our team of professionals to repair this problem before it gets even worse.

The 10,000 square foot production facility, called Carolina Smokehouse, opens for production today with an initial capacity of making 800,000 pounds of Barvecue a year and expects to employ 15 team members as production ramps up.
According to the Plant Based Foods Association, based on research from Cypress Research Group, 77 percent of shoppers in the U.S. had purchased a plant-based product in the last six months. U.S. retail sales of plant-based foods continued to increase by double digits in 2020, growing 27 percent and bringing the total plant-based market value to $7 billion. This growth in dollar sales was consistent across the nation, with more than 25 percent growth in every U.S. census region.
"We're thrilled to increase production capacity of our wood-smoked, plant-based proteins to meet this demand as we expand into over 700 grocery stores by year-end," said Zack Werner, co-founder and COO, of Barvecue.

Barvecue aims to do good for people, the planet, and animals. This is evident in its Carolina Smokehouse. In addition to producing plant-based meats that are kinder to our planet and animals, the Smokehouse prioritizes a healthy, bright, safer environment for staff.
A focal point in the employee lounge is a cheery, inspirational mural by artist Twyla Francois. It reads "Be the Change" and features a pig named Wilbur on a car ride to freedom, with his window rolled down and face in the wind. The lounge has lots of natural light via large windows, a kitchen, and a family-room-style hangout area for team members to relax in.
Barvecue's current facility, located at 10308 Bailey Rd, Cornelius, NC 28031 and within walking distance of the new facility, is now the brand's Innovation Center.
Barvecue, For Everyone!
Following its recent national launch in 360 Sprouts Farmers Markets and additional retail locations coming soon, Barvecue will be available in over 700 stores by year-end. The brand cemented its commitment to foodservice when it launched at 10 colleges and universities this fall, spanning coast-to-coast, including North Carolina staple UNC-Chapel Hill, University of Iowa, and Washington State University.
"Our goal is to make great tasting food that just happens to be plant-based. Opening our new production facility gives Barvecue the ability to share our food with more and more people," affirms Zack.
Barvecue, the producer of wood-smoked, plant-based proteins which emulate the taste and mouthfeel of traditional animal-protein counterparts, is a mission-driven company based in Cornelius, NC. Established in 2017, Barvecue seeks to create the best-tasting, plant-based barbecue on the market, while building a company that cares about people, animals, and the planet. www.barvecue.com @barvecue

Oct. 12. National Balloon Rally Charities Inc. announced the 2021 Carolina BalloonFest scheduled for Oct. 15, 16, 17 in Statesville has been canceled.
COVID-19 concerns related to bringing large groups of people together over the three-day event led to the cancellation of this year’s 47th Carolina BalloonFest, but festival organizers say that they plan for the festival to return next year.
Bob Thompson, current chairman of the NBRC Inc. Board of Directors and president of Victory Air LLC, said that it was the right decision to make at this time.
“We had lengthy conversations about this decision and focused our discussion on community health,” said Thompson. “We have worked in close contact with the City of Statesville, local health officials and other community stakeholders to try and determine a safe way to host 40,000 people over a three-day weekend. But there was no safe solution that didn’t involve risk, so the Carolina BalloonFest Board of Directors ultimately made the decision, in the best interest of our community, to cancel this year’s festival.”
This is the second festival that the nonprofit group has had to cancel since the pandemic. This kind of decision is not made lightly given that NBRC Inc. not only depends on the festival itself as its only source of income; the nonprofit has also made it their mission to donate to over 20 other nonprofits and community agencies in Iredell County on an annual basis. In recent years, the non-profit has donated over $787,000 back to the community. But with the pandemic, obstacles have arisen.
National Balloon Rally Charities Inc. dab Carolina BalloonFest will be issuing full refunds to its 2021 festival patrons. Anyone who purchased a ticket online through Carolina BalloonFest’s website will be refunded via the festival’s ticket platform Eventbrite. For those who purchased an RV camping spot, you will be mailed a refund check.
“To cancel this event two years in a row because of the health concerns that it creates during this pandemic is heart-breaking. Therefore, we turn to our community and humbly ask you for your support,” said Bud Welch, executive director of the Carolina BalloonFest. “Any donation – big or small – would make a tremendous difference for our nonprofit so that we can continue our annual mission to help this community. We rise so others can soar, but right now, we need your aid and support.”
?With the cancellation of their second event due to the pandemic, the non-profit is asking for any donations to be sent to National Balloon Rally Charities Inc. DBA Carolina BalloonFest via a PayPal link or mailed to P.O. BOX 267 Statesville, NC 28677.

CORNELIUS, NC — It's the time of year to think about picking up a pumpkin or two near Cornelius, whether your search for the best takes you to patches and fields or your local grocery store.
In some areas, however, experts fear that heavy summer rains could have increased the likelihood of a blight that affects many vegetables including pumpkins, dampening the outlook for the pumpkin crop this fall.
North Carolina ranks 11th in the United States for the number of pumpkin acres harvested, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture census. About 2,715 acres were harvested in 2017, which is the most recent complete data from the USDA.
The USDA says six states — Illinois, California, Indiana, Michigan, Virginia and Texas — are responsible for 40 percent of pumpkin acres harvested. Together, they average between 4,700 and 5,600 acres of pumpkins a year, according to the USDA.
More recently, Illinois tops the list of pumpkin-producing states, harvesting about 10,900 acres in 2019. The other states among the top six have all averaged between 4,700 and 5,600 acres per year.
Four other states — Wisconsin, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania — account for another 20 percent of the pumpkins harvested in the country, meaning the top 10 pumpkin-producing states provide more than 60 percent of the country's pumpkin output.
Phytophthora blight is a fungus that showed up earlier than usual in the states that produce the most pumpkins, Mohammad Babadoost, a professor of plant pathology at the University of Illinois, told Harvest Public Media in July.
Heavy rains in late June and early July caused the fungus to show up earlier than anticipated in Morton, Illinois, a village that produces more than 90 percent of the world's canned pumpkin.
"After the middle of August, or close to the end of the season in September or so, it's not so bad," Babadoost said. "But this year, in the first week of July, is too much."
It's not yet known whether the fungus will lower the numbers of pumpkins produced in 2021. But Babadoost told Patch in an email statement he is "still observing some Phytophthora infection on pumpkins and other cucurbits (gourd plants)."
