Gutter Cleaning in Monroe, NC
We treat every gutter project as a top priority. Attention to detail is the heart and soul of our business. We go far beyond providing simple gutter services, giving you incredible insight into your seamless gutters project. Your gutter installation will be handled by licensed and insured professionals. It all starts here, please begin below.
The primary role of your gutter system is to channel water off of your roof and direct it away from your home’s foundation. Gutter blockages can result in water running over the sides of your gutters. That water will eventually settle around your foundation. With time, pooling water will affect the reliability of your home’s structure, causing cracks, mold growth, and even collapse.
Your home’s gutter system is held up by fascia boards, which are typically made of wood. When your clogged gutters overflow with water, your fascia boards will begin to rot. On top of that, your fascia boards must hold the increased weight of your clogged gutters. The combination of rot and weight can cause your gutter system to fail, resulting in expensive repairs.
If you want to maintain the beauty of your landscaping, having clog-free gutters is essential. When your gutters can’t do their job, overflowing water will pour down the sides of your home. Eventually, this water will damage the trees, shrubs, and flower beds close to the base of your home.
When your gutters are full of leaves and other debris, rainwater, and other forms of precipitation have nowhere to go. This causes water to fill your gutters to the brim. Because each gallon of water weighs around eight pounds, this extra weight will cause your gutters to crack, bend, or even tear away from your roof. Your gutters are rendered completely useless at that point, and you’re looking at very expensive repairs.
If you don’t have the time and patience to commit to proper gutter cleaning, The Gutter Gorilla team is here to help. We have been cleaning gutters in Monroe for years. With a fully trained team of gutter professionals on staff, we have the experience and resources to clean your gutters effectively and efficiently.

Before you call our office to schedule an inspection, consider the following symptoms of a failing gutter system:
- Gutters are starting to pull apart and separate.

- Gutters show signs of rust or have visible holes.

Here are a few signs that you should be aware of that usually require gutter repairs in Monroe, NC :
Pooling WaterPuddles of water accumulating near your home’s foundation
LeaksThe next time it rains, grab your umbrella and check your gutters for signs of drips or leaks.
Displaced HardwareIf you notice gutter-hanging hardware laying on the ground under the edge of your roof, it’s time to call in The Gutter Gorilla. This is a sign that your gutters aren’t fastened securely. One strong gust of wind or heavy rainstorm could cause serious damage to your gutter system.
MoldCheck your basement and your attic for signs of mold growth. If you see any mold or mildew, your gutters might not be doing their job of directing water away from your home.
Peeling PaintHave you noticed that paint is starting to peel down the side of your house? Is there rust beginning to form on your gutters? If so, you could be dealing with a leak. Usually, the result of rust or a puncture, this type of problem needs to be patched by a professional
Uneven GuttersIf your gutters are uneven or starting to sag in the middle, it’s not a good sign. In situations like these, pooling water will not be able to drain towards your corner downspouts. Eventually, the entire gutter will pull away from your home. It is highly recommended that you hire our team of professionals to repair this problem before it gets even worse.

Sherrill Furniture, a high-end furniture manufacturer, will create 90 new jobs in Catawba County, Governor Roy Cooper announced today. The company will invest $2.9 million to open a new custom upholstery production facility in Conover.
“The furniture capital of the world is growing,” said Governor Cooper. “North Carolina companies like Sherrill Furniture understand the advantages of doing business in our state and we’re grateful for their contributions to our communities and our economy.
Founded in Catawba County in 1945, Sherrill Furniture Company has maintained its legacy of manufacturing high-quality custom furniture in America for more than 75 years. The company’s custom upholstery and casegoods portfolio includes nine furniture brands for retailers and interior designers in all 50 states. Under the management of Charles Sherrill, a third-generation owner, Sherrill Furniture’s expansion will add a fifth production facility, and 140,000SF, to its roster of upholstery and woodworking plants.
“Backlogs within the furniture industry are at an all-time high,” said Thad Monroe, President of Sherrill Furniture Company. “We are 100% focused on substantially reducing lead times for our customers and are willing to invest heavily to more quickly fulfill orders of our USA-made products. We appreciate the support and partnership we have received at the state and local levels to ensure this same goal.”
“North Carolina continues to lead the nation’s furniture industry with triple the manufacturing activity of the national average,” said North Carolina Commerce Secretary Machelle Baker Sanders. “With the largest furniture manufacturing workforce in the nation, a large textiles and wood supply chain, and convenient location, we know that Sherrill Furniture will continue to find success for many years to come.”
While salaries will vary based on position, the average wage for all the new jobs will exceed the Catawba County average wage of $43,920. The total payroll impact for the region is expected to reach more than $3.9 million.
A performance-based grant of $150,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help with Sherrill Furniture’s expansion in North Carolina. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance to local governments to help attract economic investment and to create jobs. Companies receive no money upfront and must meet job creation and capital investment targets to qualify for payment. All One NC grants require matching participation from local governments and any award is contingent upon that condition being met.
“Congratulations to Sherrill Furniture on this next phase of growth,” said N.C. Senator Dean Proctor. “This expansion will continue to grow our local economy and provide more great opportunities for our community’s world-class talent.”
Partnering with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina on this project were the North Carolina General Assembly, North Carolina Community College System, Catawba Valley Community College, Catawba County, Catawba County Economic Development Corporation, Western Piedmont Council of Governments and the City of Conover.

MONROE, N.C. — The Dowd Center Theatre, recently renovated and reopened in the heart of downtown Monroe, will hold one of its first musicals this weekend.
A youth production of "The Wizard of Oz" will take the stage at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.
The old movie theater, which was closed in 1991, reopened officially this year after a multimillion-dollar renovation by the city and private donors. Now, the revamped performing space is set to host concerts, musical performances, comedy shows, plays, musicals and other events.
“The kids came in and they were like speechless. I mean, so were we — it was so exciting," said Lindsey Bennett, a teacher at Lanti Performing Arts, which is in Union County. "I grew up here and so I remember driving down the street and it was just an old, empty movie theater that nobody was doing anything with."
She says she's not the only one excited.
"One of our parent volunteers got teary-eyed because she was like, ‘I was in here 40 years ago,’" Bennett said. "So, it’s really exciting."
Sarah Lantigua, the co-owner of Lanti, said she was also excited to use the space with her students.
“They’ve kept the original brick and so we’re using that in our show for the yellow brick road. And, we’re doing some fun things with that, so we want to keep the authenticity of what’s happening here," Lantigua said. "But it is so beautiful, and it’s a great space. So, we’re very proud to be here."
“We’re thrilled to be using it, yeah” Bennett added.
Lantigua’s 57 students, ages 7 to 18, will take the stage to perform some well-known "Wizard of Oz" numbers, as well as some new ones. The students have been rehearsing since September, and Lantigua said this is one of the biggest venues they've performed in.
“It started with smaller stages when we were just at our studio, and then we started finding some churches to do it in and other places,” Lantigua said.
Tickets are available online and at the box office. Organizers say a portion of the proceeds will go to a good cause.
Lantigua’s foundation, the Lanti Foundation, provides scholarships for students in need to attend classes of all types at her performing arts center.
“Kids are involved in a lot of activities and sometimes parents are not able to send their children to do these things, because of finances or whatever is their case,” Lantigua explained. “So, we help provide some piano lessons, or guitar lessons, or theater classes.”
So far, the Lanti Foundation has helped more than 100 students, according to Lantigua.
The Dowd Center Theatre is in the 100 block of South Main Street in downtown Monroe.

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Union County’s growth in the last 10 years is being felt in other sectors of the economy outside home buying and building.
New census data shows roughly 37,000 more people live in the county now compared to 10 years ago.
The Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport is seeing and experiencing a growth spurt as well, according to manager Peter Cevallos.
Airport operations are up on average hundreds a month, compared to six years ago
The airport manager says the county's growth is reflected in the airport
Business at the airport has grown from a handful of planes to more than 30 in the last several years
“To the southwest are large areas right here where we have already had some verbal commitments, and we’re negotiating for the leasing of this land, so, big private hangars can be built with private funds right here,” Cevallos said, while examining a map of the airport’s planned future growth.
Cevallos is currently in the process of updating the airport’s master plan, a document which spells out the growth of the airport in the next several decades. The plan depicts the airport’s future growth in many stages through 2042, according to the airport’s website.
“One of the first major projects that I’m going to tackle, if you will, after I finish my master plan update is to rehab the runway,” Cevallos added.
The master plan, if followed, would add two service maintenance hangars, private hangars and small private plane storage areas to the airport in multiple phases, according to the current map provided by Cevallos.
The plan is currently available for public review and comment on the city’s website.
The manager, in his seventh year at the airport, said he’s seeing Union County’s growth reflected in demand at the airport. He said as more and more people learn the airport is here, they’re taking flying lessons, private flights and even going through U.S. Customs in Monroe instead of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
“It actually reflects what’s happening in the community, specifically in Union County and Monroe. The city of Charlotte is growing by leaps and bounds, and as is Union County and Monroe,” Cevallos added.“It actually reflects what’s happening in the community, specifically in Union County and Monroe. The city of Charlotte is growing by leaps and bounds, and as is Union County and Monroe,” Cevallos added.
During a walk of the property, Cevallos said parking spots are filling and a waiting list is growing.
“Of the 72 spots that we have out here, 66 of them are typed up in leases,” Cevallos explained, adding the additional six spots are left open for visiting aircraft.
His fuel and towing operations are busier too. Six years ago, when he began tracking the information manually, Cevallos said the airport averaged 350 “touches” a month. Touches are when his airport staff are helping aircraft refuel or towing them. Now, Cevallos’ computer program, which tracks the data, said it’s averaging more than 700.
The increased touches are good for Cevallos and the airport. Since it operates as an enterprise business for the city, the money Cevallos’ operations make get funneled right back into the airfield.
“The airport growth in part is reflecting not just because of what people come in here but the businesses,” Cevallos said.
He gave credit to airport businesses like Aerowood Aviation for helping grow the area. The business, which handles maintenance, lessons and charters, has grown from about four teaching planes to more than 30, according to Cevallos.
He said it helps in two ways. One, it increases the airport’s day-to-day operations and brings in more people. Secondly, it creates a pipeline of potential professional pilots, who could one day help commercial airliners fill much-needed spots.
“Our older pilots are aging out, and we’re in a shortfall right now with the number of pilots, and we’re scrambling,” Cevallos said about the commercial industry.
Meaning, this airport is a symbol of growth in Union County with more help to the skies on the way.
